All You Need To Know About the Loropetalum
Loropetalums offer year round, bold coloring to landscapes while being low maintenance & pest free.
The ruby-red to burgundy-purple foliage of the loropetalum brings bright and vibrant coloring to landscapes. Whether you are looking for the occasional ‘pop of color’ in your landscape beds or a stand out hedge, the loropetalum can be using as hedges, clustered together in beds, perennial boarders, containers, or accent plants on their own.
Loropetalums are generally pest free, deer resistant, and low maintenance. With low maintenance growth, loropetalums can be pruned for shaping but do not require regular pruning (though they can tolerate heavy pruning). Their growing conditions include sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained, acidic soil. Loropetalums respond well to a slow-release fertilizer in early April and again in mid-May. Mulching will help the overall growth and health of the plant.
