All You Need To Know About The Blueberry Darrowii

Blueberry Darrowii, also called Darrow’s blueberry, is a small shrub with showy flowers and an edible fruit. Blueberry Darrowii is a native, noninvasive evergreen to Georgia and the western Coastal Plain but can thrive under the right conditions in the Lowcountry!

Soil Conditions: moist, acidic soil

Light Conditions: sun with afternoon shade

Size: approximately 2 ft tall by about 2 ft wide

Flower: white and pink-purple flowers that bloom in early Spring

Fruit: edible blueberries that ripen in late Spring

Uses: low hedge or border plant, plant in a wildflower garden, mass plantings, single planting in landscape beds

Pests & Diseases: generally pest and disease free, pollinators will like and wildlife may eat

Pollination: cross-pollination will increase the size and quality of blueberries but is not necessary for fruit
